Pesach Celebrations at Canary Wharf
To celebrate the Jewish festival of Pesach, Canary Wharf Group plc will be hosting a buffet lunch on Thursday 17 April, for the third year running. The happy occasion is set to take place on the gallery level of East Wintergarden, where traditional food and matzah will be served to community groups from all around Canary Wharf.
The event will see groups of elderly from the wider community, side by side with employees from around the estate, eating, drinking and revelling in the celebration of this historic festival. Lunch will be followed by Mincha prayers.
Passover, known as Pesach, begins this year on Monday 14 April and runs until Tuesday 22 April. It celebrates the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, as they were led to safety across the Red Sea by Moses. Accordingly, the occasion is a time to remember this momentous triumph.
Danny Seliger from Canary Wharf Group plc said: ‘The Pesach lunch has been a joyous occasion in the last few years and we hope that the 2014 event will continue to bring people together from all different walks of life, to pay tribute to this important time in the Jewish Calendar’.
