The application process for the Apprentice Programme is as follows:
- Online Application
- Online Testing
- Assessment Centre
Stage 1: Online Application
We will be hosting pre-application webinars to provide guidance on our process as well as hints and tips on your submission. These will take place on Wednesday 28th February at 4pm and Monday 4th March at 4pm via Microsoft Teams. Please follow this link to register your attendance. Please note, attendance is not required to make an application. Candidates should only attend one session as content is repeated for each webinar.
Applications are made via our careers page on Workday; you will need to register for an account. Apprentices will not need to upload a CV, as an alternative we would like you to answer the following:
- Please provide a personal statement about you (including any work experience).
- What interests you in the career path you have chosen?
- Provide a list of your qualifications already achieved or predicted grades.
- What do you like to do in your spare time?
Application answers can be drafted on word and copied into Workday.
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an automatic reply with a RARE Recruitment Survey Link. We are proud to be using the Rare Contextual Recruitment System. This measures candidates’ achievements in light of their wider personal circumstances. We value candidates on their potential; therefore, we do not have educational grade requirements.
Stage 2: Online Testing
The General Intelligence Assessment (GIA) is an aptitude and ability that helps Canary Wharf Group predict how quickly an individual will adapt to a new role or regime.
The GIA test consists of 5 online assessments, including reasoning, perceptual speed, number speed and accuracy, word meaning and spatial visualisation. The test take approximates 30-45 minutes to complete.
Stage 3: Assessment Centre
The assessment centres are a fantastic opportunity for you to get to know the business and the Canary Wharf Estate. The assessment centres will be held in person and include a combination of tasks and networking opportunities.
You can expect an introduction in our Marketing Suite to understand the Estate, an interview with a panel of two Canary Wharf Group employees and a group exercise to engage with your peers.
Competencies
Across all the stages of the application process, candidates will be assessed against a set of competencies, including personal drive and core company values. Experience is not required for our programmes as we will equip you with the skills you need to succeed.
Reasonable adjustments
Canary Wharf Group is committed to making sure applicants with disabilities, or physical or mental health conditions are supported during the recruitment process and during your employment. We achieve this by first striving to create a safe environment for people with disabilities. When submitting your application, you will see a list of reasonable adjustments we can make for candidates that need / would like them, catering to a range of different disabilities.
Right to Work Requirements
To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you need to have been a resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous three years before the start of the apprenticeship. Exempt from the three-year residency requirement role are those awarded refugee status or indefinite leave to enter or remain.
