An unforgettable three-days of free live jazz returns to Canada Square Park from Friday 17 – Sunday 19 August. The annual Canary Wharf Jazz Festival – a celebration of all things jazz – this year features James Morton, Alexander Stewart and Dennis Rollins and is headlined on Saturday night by charismatic British jazz star, Courtney Pine.

Canary Wharf’s award-winning art programme prepares for Games…

From 23 July to 9 September Canary Wharf’s Jubilee Park hosts an exhibition of nine life-size portraits of some of Britain’s best sporting champions by renowned painter and East Londoner, Teresa Witz. The exhibition features dedicated, disciplined and inspiring UK athletes such as Mark Hunter, Victoria Barr, David Weir, Vanessa Raw, Perri Shakes-Drayton and Jeanette Kwakye. Supporting this outdoor exhibition, further portraits of sporting champions including Zac Purchase and Lee Pearson will be exhibited in the Window Gallery of Canada Place Mall from 30 July to 24 August.

Pick a sunny spot in Canada Square Park on the evening of 16 July and enjoy an exclusive screening of Metamorphosis: Titian 2012. This unique collaboration between leading choreographers, contemporary artists, composers, The Royal Ballet and The National Gallery draws influence from Titian’s three great paintings in The National Gallery and is part of the official London 2012 Festival.

Between 25 June – 7 July Canary Wharf is to host London’s very first Canstruction® event, seeing world-leading architects and designers create giant sculptures from 40,000 cans of food throughout the famous business and shopping district.

Internationally acclaimed firms will be designing these fantastic sculptures and following this unique exhibition, all cans will be collected and redistributed by the award-winning UK food charity FareShare to communities throughout the Capital, including East London. This will provide 6,000 senior citizens, children, homeless and vulnerable people with up to 16 tonnes of canned food, equivalent to 38,000 nutritious meals. This can only be achieved with cans provided by, and support from, AF Blakemore Ltd and Waitrose Canary Wharf.

Hosting one of the 43 London Ambassador Pods found across the Capital, Team London Ambassadors will be on hand at Canary Wharf to help visiting tourists, workers and residents alike during the busy Olympic period. Bright purple in colour the pods will be easy to spot and a useful source of tourist and travel information.
