Canary Wharf Announces Expansion of Jubilee Place Mall

Canary Wharf today announces the first nine retail brands due to open stores in the new Jubilee Place shopping mall extension in early November 2013.  The Jubilee Place extension totals 44,000 sq. ft. of retail space and will result in the addition of twenty-five new stores to Canary Wharf’s existing retail offer.

Leading premium fashion brands Banana Republic and COS will open in the new extension alongside independent designer swimwear brand Orlebar Brown, The White Company, cosmetics brands bareMinerals and Rituals, Oliver Bonas, Emmett Shirts and Le Pain Quotidien.

Adam Brown, of Orlebar Brown comments: “We are very excited about the new Jubilee Place development at Canary Wharf and we’re sure it will become a natural home for Orlebar Brown. Very happy to be part of it and roll on November when it opens.”

The new mall walkway opened to the public for access to the existing shopping mall and offices in March.

Camille Waxer, Chief Administrative Officer for Canary Wharf Group, said: “With the office population at Canary Wharf growing and the needs of our shoppers increasing we felt it was the right time to expand our retail offer in Jubilee Place. Banana Republic, Cos, The White Company and Orlebar Brown are all sought after brands that will enhance what is already a thriving shopping destination. We are absolutely delighted to welcome these stores to Canary Wharf and look forward to their openings in November.”

The Jubilee Place extension combined with the Group’s 115,000 sq. ft. retail development above the new Canary Wharf Crossrail Station represents one of the largest retail expansions currently underway in the UK.
