Bloom Presents…The Roof Garden Players: Summer Residency Launched at Crossrail Place
The next addition to Canary Wharf Crossrail Place’s Bloom residency will take root in June and July with the Roof Garden Players.
An off shoot of Space Productions, the players are five actors who will work with writer and director Sebastian Rex to devise three new shows accompanied by a series of interactive workshops in theatre skills, costume and set making. Performances are on Thursday and Friday evenings at 7pm and Saturdays at 2pm and will be free to attend and participate.
Zakir Khan, Head of Community Affairs for Canary Wharf Group says: “We are really excited to welcome the Roof Garden Players to their new home in the Crossrail Place performance space. It’s an inspiring place to perform and it will be interesting to see how the shows develop. We hope that as many as possible of our local community will get involved and participate in and contribute towards the final show. Spread the word amongst any budding actors and performers you might know!”
Adam Hemming, Manager at the Space Theatre adds: “Space Productions celebrated its 20th show this year and we’re extremely excited to launch our offshoot company, the Roof Garden Players which will be taking root at Crossrail Place this Summer. We auditioned over 100 actors for the Company and are delighted to have selected these five hugely talented performers to help us create a trio of original theatre pieces in the beautiful setting of the Roof Garden at Crossrail Place.”
