Women Leading Real Estate – 22.07.22

We are absolutely delighted that Sophie Goddard, our Director of Sustainability, has been included in BISNOW’s prestigious Women Leading Real Estate List for 2022. This is a magnificent achievement and recognises the amazing work that Sophie has been doing to put sustainability at the heart of everything we do for the Canary Wharf community. We are really proud of Sophie and the team’s achievements this year and especially in helping to launch our partnership with the Eden Project which is pioneering ways that urban environments can work better for nature as well as people. Sophie and her team will continue to play an integral role in helping to support the ecosystems that people and nature depend on as we bring transformational change to the Estate to make it even more sustainable.

Sophie Goddard Biography

Sophie Goddard is Director of Sustainability for Canary Wharf Group (CWG), an integrated developer, contractor, and property manager with a vision to transform urban spaces into extraordinary environments. Sustainability has been front and centre for CWG’s buildings over the last 20 years and Sophie is further pushing the agenda. This is not only for buildings but a holistic approach which also focuses on the public realm where the recently announced partnership with the Eden Project aims to create additional space which works for nature as well as people. This is further to the over 20 acres of parks and gardens and 5km of waterside paths which residents, workers and visitors enjoy at Canary Wharf. Sophie has previously led sustainability across the UK for the regional and specialist businesses within Balfour Beatty, the UK’s largest contractor. Sophie has also spent time in the retail industry where she led programmes to deliver sustainable outcomes in the Far East. With over 10 years of experience in a variety of roles and sectors, Sophie firmly believes that the private sector has a key role to play in responding to the climate crisis in a way which creates healthy and prosperous places to work, live and thrive.
