A slice of the big apple is coming to London as Canary Wharf transforms into a New York inspired immersive cityscape. Visitors to Canary Wharf’s Wood Wharf neighbourhood will find break dancers, yellow taxis, NYC pizza, a subway station and Brooklyn’s famous brownstones to get them in the empire state of mind.

Open to the public and free to visit from Wednesday 20 to Saturday 23 September, the cityscape has been installed to celebrate the launch of Canary Wharf’s Manhattan style loft apartments at 8 Harbord Square. The collection of 82 apartments, situated on Harbord Square Park, is a fusion on London’s dockside heritage and unique Manhattan loft style living, bringing a sense of the iconic New York State to the Estate.

New York’s famous yellow cabs will greet visitors on Water Street whilst those hungry for a bite to eat can enjoy an American hot dog or NYC-style pizza by the slice served from an authentic yellow school bus. Breakdancers will bring a touch of hip-hop to Wood Wharf’s street corners, whilst chess tables found in Harbord Square Park will provide a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps. With abundant Instagram spots, foodie stalls and stewards that will be on hand to help visitors around Wood Wharf.

For those looking to take in more of Canary Wharf over the weekend, the chic Tribe Hotel offers a place to rest and recuperate right above all the NYC action.
