Vertus launches build-to-rent apartments 35 floors high at 10 George Street in Canary Wharf – 22.02.22

Nine new apartments now available on the top floor of Vertus’ first build-to-rent building in a thriving residential neighbourhood

Vertus, Canary Wharf Group’s residential leasing arm, has unveiled nine apartments on the 35th floor of its original build-to-rent building 10 George Street. Rising 128 metres above Wood Wharf, Canary Wharf’s new neighbourhood, the spectacular top-floor apartments overlook waterside gardens and offer sweeping views across the O2, Greenwich and the Thames Barrier.

The apartments are housed in the distinctively designed podium and tower building from GRID Architects, which fronts onto Canary Wharf’s South Dock. All apartments feature beautifully furnished interiors from award-winning interior designers Camerich, skilfully combining a considered blend of colours and textures throughout. This, in addition to the sense of space and breath-taking views offered by the full-height windows, and with high-spec Siemens appliances throughout, creates a range of stylish apartments that feel like a secret oasis above the city.

The collection of apartments comprises one studio, five one-bedroom and three two-bedroom properties, available in a variety of different layouts and sizes, ranging from 445 sq. ft to 1,015 sq. ft. All apartments are open plan to accentuate the natural light, and incorporate the highest quality materials and fittings, from the glass balustrades of the balconies to the dark wood furniture and fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms

Residents can enjoy 10 George Street’s 6,000 sq ft of communal social spaces furnished by Angel O’Donnell. These include a comfortable and stylishly furnished lounge area which opens out onto a south-facing terrace, with Med-style seating and day beds offering dockside views of Harbour Quay Gardens. Outdoor heaters and a BBQ on the terrace, as well as a TV, games consoles, pool table and board games in the lounge encourage social interaction among residents and their guests at both organised and informal gatherings.

When it comes to dining and eating out, residents do not have far to travel. Due to open this spring and occupying two levels of 10 George Street for enviably easy access, is the artisanal, natural and sustainable MMy Wood Wharf by Mercato Metropolitano. Creating a vibrant community gathering place which MMy is already known for in its Elephant & Castle and Mayfair markets, MMy Wood Wharf will include a discerning deli/grocery store offering an extensive selection of fresh and healthy world products as well as an on-site bakery.  Further plans include an MMy live jazz music venue at lower ground level.

For those seeking to dine out, they don’t have far to go. As well as the plethora of ground floor and rooftop eateries in Wood Wharf, located on the ground floor of 10 George Street and due to open imminently on 21 February 2022, is Emilia’s Crafted Pasta. Providing soul-warming comfort food with all the freshness and simplicity of Italian cuisine, Emilia’s surroundings are designed to emulate the bustling trattoria atmosphere of the Emilia-Romagna region. As with all Emilia’s restaurants, the custom-designed kitchen and bar areas will be fully open for diners to watch the theatrics of drinks and dishes being freshly prepared. Alfresco diners can enjoy views of the surrounding water and green spaces and stunning Wood Wharf architecture.

10 George Street was the first build-to-rent development on the Canary Wharf estate, with the first residents moving in in February 2020. Situated in the thriving new neighbourhood of Wood Wharf, each of the 327 apartments benefit from stylish interiors with spectacular views and an outstanding range of amenities. Coming from the largest sustainable developer in the UK, 10 George Street is built to the same high standards of sustainability consistent across the CWG residential and office portfolio.

Alastair Mullens, Managing Director, Vertus said: “Across London, build-to-rent apartments continue to be in great demand, but here in Wood Wharf we can offer residents a truly unique experience – contemporary homes in architecturally remarkable buildings with the levels of service and facilities more commonly found in luxury hotels. Our latest apartments at 10 George Street are some of the best build-to-rent homes we’ve offered yet, providing exceptional living spaces in a thriving new community, and with amenities that more than meet the demands of modern work patterns and the desire for engaging and interactive social spaces.”

Prices range between £510 and £920 per week, which includes access to the communal amenities, high-speed broadband and Samsung HD Smart TV with a TV licence.
