10 George Street was the first build-to-rent development on the Canary Wharf estate, with the first residents moving in in February 2020. Comprised of 327 apartments ranging from studio to two-bedroom properties in a variety of layouts and sizes, 10 George Street offers extensive amenities including a lounge area with a TV, games consoles, pool table and board games, all designed to encourage social interaction within the building. The outdoor terrace with Med-style seating and day beds is equipped with a BBQ and heaters and offers dockside views of Harbour Quay Gardens. Located on the ground floor of the building is recently opened Emilia’s Crafted Pasta.
Vertus’ pet friendly development 8 Water Street (the first such development on the Estate), designed by renowned architects Stanton Williams, features 174 apartments in a mix of studio to three-bedroom homes. With a landscaped private garden overlooking South Dock and the floating pavilions of Water Square, 8 Water Street also benefits from a large roof terrace – the largest outdoor space in the Vertus portfolio. 8 Water Street offers state-of-the-art amenities, including a self-service bar with free vend bean-to-cup coffee machines and wine dispensers, a private dining room, a lounge area, co-working areas and private outdoor space.
Newfoundland, the most recent addition to the Vertus portfolio, launched in May 2021, comprising 636 modern apartments of different sizes and configurations, and boasting a distinguishable diagrid design, conceived by Horden Cherry Lee. The tallest build-to-rent building in the UK, reaching up 220m, Newfoundland offers uninterrupted views eastwards over Canary Wharf and Docklands and westwards towards the City and rest of the capital. Its landmark collection of 10 top-floor penthouses was recently launched to the public.
The building is home to an elegantly designed lounge and a games room, a west-facing terrace, BBQ, an outdoor children’s play area and a ‘kidult’ zone – a multifaceted work-play space, ideal for families. Newfoundland also benefits from a state-of-the-art gym and two gym studios, a private dining room, and a screening room with a wide-screen TV and games consoles.
