Vertus diversifies with flexible serviced apartments at 3 and 15 West Lane – 05.03.24

The ongoing transformation of Canary Wharf continues at pace with Vertus, Canary Wharf Group’s residential leasing arm, unveiling two new serviced apartment buildings for short-to-medium stays in the Wharf for the first time.

3 and 15 West Lane, both designed by HTA Design, will offer 378 fashionably furnished studio apartments, providing a flexible and comfortable base for travellers and city dwellers alike. The new buildings expand Vertus’ offering of living options in Canary Wharf.

Nestled alongside Union Square, which will be a vibrant, pedestrianised area home to boutique shops, bars and restaurants, 3 and 15 West Lane seamlessly blends contemporary architecture with Vertus’ signature premium service. Since its launch in 2020, Vertus has won multiple awards for its management team, stellar customer service offer and impressive design.

Guests at both buildings can enjoy shared amenity spaces, including a lush garden lounge and landscaped terrace, a private dining area, residents’ lounge and co-working hub. Guests also gain access to the exclusive Vertus+ programme, a wider social community. This extensive programme of social soirees is orchestrated by a dedicated in-house team, ranging from cooking masterclasses to cocktail mixology lessons to Wine Wednesday club gatherings. Each event is designed to make it easier to meet like-minded people to connect all year round, fostering an instant yet sustainable community spirit.

West Lane is perfectly located for guests to take advantage of the Estate’s flourishing food and beverage scene. Hawksmoor, Dishoom, Blacklock and Fish Game are minutes away. Additional hot dining destinations set to launch soon include Roe, Hovarda, Kricket and SOMA.

Surrounded by 16.5 acres of green space, encompassing leafy Harbord Square Park, serene South Dock and vibrant Harbour Quay Gardens, guests can take advantage of outdoor activities such as open water swimming, GoBoat and Padium – Canary Wharf’s premium padel club. Wider plans to create a new green spine through the centre of the Estate, transforming Middle Dock into a new destination for swimming and water sports, are currently underway.

World class transport connections, including the Elizabeth and Jubilee lines, means central London can be accessed within 15 minutes via direct services. London City Airport and Heathrow Airport can be reached via direct services in 15 and 45 minutes respectively, making Canary Wharf the ideal location to explore the city.

Alastair Mullens, Managing Director, Vertus said: “Launching 3 and 15 West Lane is another exciting milestone in the evolution of the residential rental offer in Canary Wharf. Last year we witnessed record visitor levels to the Estate, with over 67 million visitors. Now, for the first time, we will be able to provide more of those visitors with an outstanding apartment coupled with the best-in-class customer service that Vertus is renowned for. Our new flexible offer is a perfect way for guests to get a taste of living in Canary Wharf, with the option to then upgrade to longer tenancies within our residential apartment buildings. We have all the ingredient here for an incredible stay – world class transport, some of London’s best restaurants, and tranquil blue and green spaces. We can’t wait to welcome a new wave of guests early next year, adding another dimension to Canary Wharf’s flourishing community.”

3 and 15 West Lane are scheduled for completion in December 2024, opening the doors to its first guest stays in January 2025.
