The Qube, London’s members only sanctuary for musicians and creators is launching its second site in February 2023.
Based in the newly developed Wood Wharf site adjacent to Canary Wharf, Qube East promises studio heaven for its members. On Friday 24th February 2023 it will host its launch party for founder members, friends, and media. Wood Wharf is London’s newest district, developed from the historic West India Docks. Its 150,000 sq ft of restaurants, bars and markets is 2 minutes from the Canary Wharf Jubilee line station and 5 minutes from the new Elizabeth Line station – opening it up to a 12-minute journey from Tottenham Court Road, as well as serving London’s thriving East.
Qube East will offer 24 production rooms, including a state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos 7.4.1 studio and VIP lounge. Their studios are designed by industry leading acousticians to achieve superior environments for premium sound and content creation. There will be rehearsal rooms as well as several DJ rooms equipped with synchronised recording and video technology. A podcast studio will go hand in hand with a video editing suite, ideal for filming and editing content to your taste. Qube East’s content studios are fully automated including built in cameras, lighting, and microphones to enable you to stream, film, edit and then at the touch of a button receive your files via email. After work, the focal point will no doubt be the private members bar and lounge, stocked with a full range of alcoholic beverages, barista-made coffee, and an outdoor terrace – the perfect place to unwind after a session and hang out.
Membership options start at £75 + VAT per month for a flexible membership and range up to a Resident membership starting at £1,100 + VAT per month. Studios can be booked by-the-hour and up to a month in advance via The Qube app or website. Members experience a consistent high quality across Qube East and the original site Qube West – which hosts 40 studios, a member’s lounge and co-working space in West London. Existing Qube West members can request to upgrade to a multi-site membership for an additional 10% per month on their membership fee.
The Qube’s offering reflects changes in the way society works; from portfolio careers where you aren’t going to one business premises 40 hours a week, to the growth of the creator economy and the need to record professional video or audio without access to an organisation’s facilities, The Qube is making space affordable and flexible. At the same time, for those feeling isolated or frustrated creating at home, it’s a home away from home for a tribe of like-minded people to collaborate and have fun. The membership board selects a diverse and complementary mix, where connections and creative growth can happen. Having raised two rounds of seed funding across 2020 and 2021, The Qube plans to expand access to its experience globally.

About The Qube
The Qube founders Nicholas Sonuga and Amin Hamzianpour met in a dingy studio basement in 2017, at the time Nicholas Sonuga and Amin Hamzianpour were both pursuing music careers as producers. In-between bouncing stems and writing melodies, they’d often enjoy chats in the kitchen about their struggles to find that perfect topline or why that snare just wasn’t poppin. Then they’d go back to their rooms and lock themselves away for hours on end on a mission to cover the studio rent!
It was during this period they started thinking about an alternative way of working, one that offered a solution to the challenges they were facing. They had noticed what an isolating experience being an independent creative was, especially with the expensive state of sound proofed space.
Their intuition was that even the most introverted would benefit from a little comradery between their solo flow states. They decided to set out to build a community where people could benefit from a welcoming and inspiring space to forge their life’s work. They realised paying rent for a studio which was empty for hours each day didn’t make sense and was hella expensive. The traditional studio models hadn’t caught up with the innovation of digital technology, so producers had two options; either being locked in to costly long term contracts for a shoebox room, or pay premium day rates in big studios with equipment they didn’t need. They figured there must be others facing the same problems, so they set out on a mission to design a solution. A hub where creatives can work and socialise under the same roof. Where community and collaboration is cultivated, where flexibility and affordability is key, and where inspiration is essential.
The Qube’s Beliefs
- All creators should be able to make a living from their art.
- Content creation is a real job.
- High quality facilities should be flexible and affordable
- Collaboration is the hallmark of creativity
