The Felix Project festive challenge returns for new year – 04.09.2024

The Felix Project’s Santa Stair Climb is set to return this festive season, and it’s hoped 1,000 people will conquer the climb.

Run in partnership with Canary Wharf Group (CWG), the event takes place on Sunday 8th December at One Canada Square in Canary Wharf. People can step up and register from today to complete 1,031 steps of the iconic skyscraper. The challenge will finish on the 48th floor, where participants will be able to take in spectacular views of London.

The event is aiming to raise enough to deliver over 825,000 meals to people across the capital who are struggling to afford to put food on the table. Charlotte Hill OBE, CEO at The Felix Project said: “We know winters are always hard for people, particularly those on low incomes. Higher energy and food bills leave many people facing the stark reality of having to choose between heating and eating. The Felix Project does all it can to rescue food and get it to the incredible organisations who are feeding people facing food insecurity, but we need your support. That is why I am urging people to take on this challenge and join us for what will be an amazing day.”

Santa Stair climb is one of the many ways CWG is working in partnership with The Felix Project. As well as hosting the event they are also offering participants and their families a series of special discounts, perks and access to other activities taking place at Canary Wharf.

Sophie Goddard, Director ESG at CWG said: “Following the huge success last year we are thrilled to host this even bigger and better Stair Climb in December. Our partnership with The Felix Project to has gone from strength to strength as we support their vision of a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.  I hope as many businesses and individuals sign up and show their support for this incredibly worthwhile cause.”

The Felix Project helps feed hundreds of thousands of people every day by rescuing good quality surplus food and distributing it to over 1,000 community groups and schools in every London borough who help those experiencing food insecurity.
