The penthouse at One Park Drive, Canary Wharf Group’s flagship residential building, has been named Best Apartment at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2023.
The awards set the standard for excellence in London house building. The Best Apartment category, which assesses the full spectrum of apartments the city offers, is a mark of excellence for new homes in the capital.
Interior designed by Pritzker-prize winning architecture practice Herzog & de Meuron and with interior furnishings by Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio, the penthouse is the pinnacle – both literally and metaphorically – of living at Canary Wharf.
Owning a circular, geometric form, One Park Drive is arguably one of the most distinctive residential buildings on the capital’s skyline, created by the stacking, rotation and mirroring of individual floor plates. The building offers state-of-the-art amenities, including a 24-hour concierge, fully equipped gymnasium and a 20-metre swimming pool.
The penthouse is a bespoke four-bedroom duplex apartment situated on the 56th floor. Its wide range of unique features include a curved, sculpted staircase, a hidden internal courtyard and a series of unique artworks created by Tom Dixon himself.
To complement Herzog & de Meuron’s architectural approach, Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio created its own immersive interior design concept for the penthouse – the ‘Home of the Collector’. Rooted in the idea of the penthouse feeling like a consummate collector’s residence, the project involved the commissioning and making of artworks and intricate bespoke designs.
