New Opening: All-day dining and drinking destination Shutters to open on 1 December in the Iconic One Canada Square – 24.11.21

Bringing the taste of Cornwall to the capital, expect feel good produce straight from the coast, fantastic wines, and top shelf tipples

Straight from the rugged Southwestern Coast to the hub of global business, Shutters Canary Wharf will open on 1 December and celebrate local Cornish produce fresh from sea and land, prepared, cooked, and inspired by the vibrant sun-soaked living of Southern California.

Opening in the new Conran designed, hotel-styled ground floor of One Canada Square, Shutters is an ever-evolving restaurant and bar, open 7 days a week, for brunch from 8am to 11am, all-day dining from noon to 10pm, plus proper, home-cooked roasts on Sundays. The drinks offering ranges from great wines to bubbles and cocktails, accompanying three mammoth copper beer tanks, filled with fresh-from-tank Meantime, one of London’s finest craft breweries.

Focusing on a strong farm to fork ethos, Shutters’ menus combine Cornish charm with a Sol Cal twist, reflective of London’s dynamic food scene and international population. With daily specials and a fish-led menu, the food at Shutters is cooked confidently and with integrity, favoring modern interpretations of culinary classics, crafted to perfection.

Highlights from the breakfast menu includes Steak and Eggs (New York strip, two fried eggs and Cornish Sea salt fries); Smoked West Coast Haddock Kedgeree; Sweet Corn and Coriander Fritters and The King’s Frenchie (Double French toast with caramelised banana, peanut butter, streaky bacon, and honey).

Meanwhile, the all-day menu includes starters and light bites (Cornish Crab, Steamed St Austell Bay, and Mussels, and Grilled King Prawns); Raw Bar (Steak Tartare, Salmon Ceviche, and Tuna Tataki); Surf (Lobster, Prawn and Scallop Dim Sum, Braised and Griddled Octopus, and Whole Baked Cornish Sole); and Turf (The Big Sur Burger, Vegan Cali Sur, and Cauliflower Crust Pizza).

Located on the upper level is Cartel, a dedicated cocktail bar inspired by the delights of Mexico. Stocked with Artisan Mezcals, pure Tequilas, clean spirits, and top-shelf tipples from around the world, expect a global cocktail list best enjoyed with a variety of tasty tacos. Think Tempura Lobster (Blue corn tacos, Salsa Roja, lettuce and pickles), and Cornish Lobster and Crab Salad (Chipotle mayo, lettuce, corn tacos, and charred pineapple).

Appeasing to time-strapped city worked is the new SuperNatural counter stocked with freshly pressed juices, smoothies, Shutters’ own Happiness Blend of coffee hand-roasted in Cornwall, along with delicate pastries and beautiful snacks. Suitable for both eat-in and takeaway. In the evening, SuperNatural shifts gears and knocks out natural and low intervention wines from across the globe alongside build-your-own deli boards of cured meats, cheeses, and lighter bites. 

Focuses on ultra-fresh, coastal, no-ego food served within Shutters modern restaurant, guests can expect a diverse menu featuring simple yet flavourful combinations with the kitchen team executing the plates with aplomb.
