‘Kidult’ area now open at Newfoundland, London’s skyline icon – 14.10.21

As the way we work changes, this new work-play area meets family needs in London

Newfoundland, a prestigious new addition to the Capital’s skyline and a landmark building for Vertus, Canary Wharf Group’s (CWG) residential rental arm, has opened a new ‘kidult’ area. The multi-faceted work-play space has been designed for adults and children and is the first of its kind for Vertus and   Canary Wharf.

The play space area of Newfoundland is situated within levels one and two of Newfoundland, the architectural and engineering masterpiece, and the tallest Build-to-Rent (BtR) scheme in the UK. Offering the ultimate space for hybrid working parents or those working full-time at home, the ‘kidult’ area has been developed for adults to work from home whilst watching their children play or to simply embrace the inner child at the end of a long day.

The new play area has been designed by Angel O’Donnell and features a rock-climbing wall with soft play surfaces, a slide and a TV zone, with an educational entertainment schedule, making it an ideal place for children to hang out.

The carefully designed workspaces allow for clear views of the play zones which feature the latest technology to ensure seamless videoconferencing for remote working, both indoor and outdoor. Guests can enjoy a selection of refreshments from the adjoining communal lounge areas while taking in the spectacular views of the river.

Vertus is setting a new standard with residential buildings offering an unmatched lifestyle experience attracting individuals, couples, and families in London.

Alastair Mullens, Managing Director of Vertus comments, “The opening of this dedicated area for hybrid or full time at home workers with children, demonstrates how we are keeping both this new way of life and families in mind. Newfoundland offers a truly unmatched rental lifestyle with smart layouts, sleek designs and top-end amenities.

“Tenants can enjoy a rock-climbing wall within the soft landscaped areas for adults and children alike to try, TV with a learning schedule within the residential building which is equipped with the highest levels of security.”

The roof above the kidult area also features a variety of different species of trees and plants as well as wildflowers that contribute to the overall wide biodiversity on the Canary Wharf estate

Rising 58 stories above the River Thames, Newfoundland comprises 636 stylish apartments ranging in size from studios to three-bedrooms. The spacious apartment interiors have been beautifully designed by Johnson Naylor and show apartments dressed by award-winning interior design studio Angel O’Donnell with furnishings from David Philips.

What sets Newfoundland apart as the pinnacle of the BTR sector is its stunning Vertus Plus amenity spaces, which span 13,000 sq. ft. Residents enjoy access to a stylish, yet cosy residents’ lounge area, which features automatic wine dispensers, coffee machines and an array of games such as a shuffleboard.

There is also a private rentable dining room, the perfect place to entertain friends and family, fitness studios which offer virtual classes and a sizeable gym. Completing the Vertus Plus amenities is a tranquil terrace garden that looks out across the River Thames.

The studio to three-bedroom apartments at the UK’s tallest BTR scheme, Newfoundland, are available to rent now. Prices start from £1,928pcm and for more information visit thisisvertus.com or contact leasing@thisisvertus.com
