Belvedere Gardens, one of the prime residential buildings at Southbank Place, has welcomed its first residents following successful completion. With all available apartments sold off-plan, the final phase of 19 two and three-bedroom apartments have been released onto the market, showcased by two fully-dressed show apartments located on the 12th and 13th floors. Prices for the remaining units start from £2.25 million.

Developed by Braeburn Estates, a joint venture partnership between Qatari Diar and Canary Wharf Group, Belvedere Gardens benefits from street frontage onto Belvedere Road, adjacent to the Shell Tower. Front-facing apartments benefit from uninterrupted views onto Jubilee Gardens, the London Eye, the River Thames and the Houses of Parliament, whilst the remainder look onto County Hall and over the Southbank Place public squares.

One of London’s most anticipated developments, Belvedere Gardens has been inspired by the Festival of Britain, which was held on the site in 1951. The visually striking exterior pays homage to the Festival’s emblem, the ‘Festival Star’, which is embossed and debossed across the façade. The mixture of light and bronze colour panels also echo the Shell Centre and nearby Palace of Westminster, giving the building a true sense of belonging on the South Bank.

Setting the standard, the entrance lobby is a grand double-height space punctuated by marble floors, plush carpeting and dark oak wood panelling. A solid white marble concierge desk welcomes visitors, whilst a feature stone sculpture, designed in-keeping with the Festival Star theme, juts out from the wall to create an impressive feature. Accentuating the ceiling height, a spectacular bespoke contemporary chandelier drapes down into the centre of the room.

The interiors have been conceived by specialists Goddard Littlefair, with designs that maximise the living spaces and accentuate the views. Fixtures and fittings are consistent with the character of the building, including bronze feature door handles, bronze-finished Dornbracht mixer-taps and bespoke chandeliers, all of which have been exclusively handcrafted for Belvedere Gardens to create one-of-a-kind homes.

Entered through a grand oak panelled door, one of the standout features of each apartment is the impressive entrance hallways, which are complete with light and dark marble flooring. Double doors lead onto the open-plan kitchen/dining area, equipped with Miele appliances, polished marble worktops and breakfast bar. The main living area benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the room with natural light and provide spectacular panoramic views. Spacious terraces or Juliet balconies provide outside space and the ideal setting to take in the unique surroundings.

Apartments also include spacious bathrooms with full-size bath, walk-in rain shower and bespoke cabinetry. Master bedrooms include opulent walk-in wardrobes and connected bathroom suites, with guest bedrooms featuring full-height wardrobe units.

Bedrooms also benefit from floor-to-ceiling windows, with some including perforated aluminium panels on the exterior, which interact with sunlight making the building appear to evolve and take new shape throughout the day; they also provide a veil like curtain for privacy, whilst maximising light into the room.

Benefitting from a private amenities space, designed by Goddard Littlefair, residents will have direct access to a private residents’ lounge, leading to an impressive outdoor terrace with views of Jubilee Gardens, the London Eye and onto the river. A dedicated health and fitness facility will provide steam and sauna rooms, a full-service gymnasium, treatment rooms, wet room and relaxation room.

Residents of Belvedere Gardens will also benefit from access to the 17,000 sq. ft. health facility that will cater the wider Southbank Place development. Also designed by Goddard Littlefair, the amenities space includes a 25 metre swimming pool, his and hers steam and sauna rooms, expansive gymnasium with specialist workout rooms, relaxation pods and a hair and beauty studio.

Richard Oakes, Sales & Marketing Director, Europe, Qatari Diar, said: “To achieve completion at Belvedere Gardens is an important milestone for the development. Alongside the opening of the offices and commercial spaces, as well as the Underground entrance Southbank Place is coming to life. Residents moving in and those visiting with the intention to potentially purchase will get a real sense of the lifestyle benefits afforded here.”

Brian De’ath, Director of Residential Sales at Canary Wharf Group, said: “Belvedere Gardens is the first residential building completed by the Canary Wharf Group, so it was imperative that we delivered an exceptional product alongside our partners at Qatari Diar and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. The purchasers moving in can now benefit from everything the building offers, whilst I’m confident that potential buyers will be blown away by the interior finishes and incredible views on offer.”

Viewings at Belvedere Gardens are strictly by appointment only. For further information on Southbank Place or to book an appointment call 020 7001 3600 or visit www.southbank-place.com
