CWG Wins Two Awards at the WhatHouse? Awards 2023 – 20.11.23

CWG has won two awards at this year’s WhatHouse? Awards. The penthouse at One Park Drive, Canary Wharf’s flagship residential building, won gold in the coveted Best Interior Design category, whilst Wood Wharf, the Estate’s growing residential neighbourhood, won a silver award in the Best Mixed-use Development category.

The WhatHouse? Awards is a standout event in the UK property industry calendar, showcasing and celebrating the best developments, developers, and partners in the housing sector.

The Best Interior Design category recognises exceptional craftsmanship and thoughtful design across a range of homes in the country.

The penthouse at One Park Drive is designed by Pritzker-prize winning architecture practice Herzog & de Meuron with interior furnishings by Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio.

Commenting on the penthouse, the judges said: “Canary Wharf has a reputation for art and sculpture, and this magnificent building dominates the waterfront at Wood Wharf. The jewel in the crown is the duplex penthouse on the 56th floor – this apartment is extraordinary; it represents a change in interior design, a marriage between the exterior and interior, which will stand the test of time.”

Wood Wharf is the newest neighbourhood within the Canary Wharf estate. This vibrant 23-acre space has been designed for collaboration and innovation and is already home to over 3,500 residents. Alongside new residential buildings, it is also home to a flourishing and diverse food and beverage scene, including Hawksmoor, Dishoom, Mallow and Fish Game.

The judges said: “Wood Wharf has been conceived as a new mixed-use neighbourhood and not just an extension to Canary Wharf’s commercial success. Although still under development, the locale and the mix of residential properties and tenures already delivered reflect a more natural social environment”.

Melanie Conway, Director of Residential Sales at CWG said: “These two quality awards are further evidence of the Estate’s outstanding residential offer.

One Park Drive is an iconic building that has quickly become a key feature of the London skyline due to its distinctive architecture. To now win gold for Best Interior Design further demonstrates One Park Drive’s credentials as an inspiring residential address. Wood Wharf is quickly becoming its own vibrant neighbourhood, where people can live, work and thrive on the Canary Wharf estate. It is a great achievement to have been recognised in this year’s Best Mixed-use Development category.
