Canary Wharf Group tops out at 8 Harbord Square – 01.03.22

Construction has topped out at 8 Harbord Square, Canary Wharf Group’s latest residential development.

Located in Wood Wharf, Canary Wharf’s new neighbourhood, 8 Harbord Square will offer 82 loft-style apartments across 12 storeys once complete.

Designed by Karakusevic Carson, it will also provide commercial and retail usages at ground floor level. 

The design of the building has been influenced by the warehouse districts of Lower Manhattan, with the new apartments offered in two styles – Prospect loft and Gramercy loft. Both feature exposed brick walls, exposed servicing, concrete ceilings and large industrial-style windows to create the loft-living effect.

The building also draws architectural inspiration from the history of the London docklands and Canary Wharf; 8 Harbord Square’s façade is set in simple vertical bays with solid brickwork and decorative panels and cornices to define the large window bays.
