Canary Wharf Group, in partnership with New City College and Tower Hamlets Council’s job brokerage Workpath, is to host a second Canary Wharf Job Fair following the success of the inaugural event in December 2021.
Taking place on Wednesday 15 June at the beautiful East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf, the food, beverage and hospitality job fair promises to see around 40 employers, offering candidates the chance to explore live vacancies, apprenticeships, training opportunities as well as free courses to upskill and retain.
The fair will bring together new and existing brands from across the Estate who are looking to build or expand their teams.
“With many new and exciting shops, bars and restaurants opening at Canary Wharf we are keen to help our tenants build the best teams. We often get asked by local people about the employment opportunities arising from these new openings so we hope this event will help to broker those direct relationships and result in some new career journeys for those that are seeking them”, comments Emma Warden, Associate Director of CSR & Community – Canary Wharf Group.
The job fair in December was one was of the largest recruitment events to be delivered in the area, it was attended by over 500 job seekers and more than 40 employers promoting hundreds of vacancies and offering advice.
“We are so pleased to be partnering again with Canary Wharf and New City College to hold a hospitality, food and beverage jobs fair. Not only does it provide an opportunity for residents to meet with employers to learn about job roles and local opportunities, but it gives a boost to Tower Hamlets’ local economy. I hope it’s as successful as the previous one,” said Vicky Clark, Director of Integrated Growth and Development at Tower Hamlets Council.
One of the recruiters attending the day is TRIBE Canary Wharf Hotel, their General Manager Filipe Avillez commented “We are very excited that the first TRIBE in the UK will open this summer in Wood Wharf. TRIBE Canary Wharf has 312 cleverly designed rooms and a California-inspired restaurant called Feels Like June with 200 covers including a beautiful terrace. We have many exciting roles that we are recruiting to work in our hotel, restaurant and bar.”
