Cyber security firm is second tech company in a month to transition from Level39 to the Columbus Building
Canary Wharf Group and its technology community Level39, today announced that Digital Shadows, the leader in digital risk management and relevant threat intelligence has successfully transitioned to the Columbus Building, owned by Canary Wharf Group.
Digital Shadows has signed a flexible lease for 15,076 sq. ft. office space, to accommodate its London-based team, which builds on its longstanding relationship with Canary Wharf Group.
Founded in 2011 by James Chappell and Alastair Paterson, the cyber security firm was a founding member of Level39 in 2013. As it expanded quickly from an initial team of six to almost 200 employees globally, Canary Wharf Group has provided the flexible infrastructure necessary to support its scale-up transition.
Following the recent agreement with Motive Partners, Digital Shadows’ tenancy marks the second transition in the past month delivered by Canary Wharf Group and its subsidiary Level39 for fastgrowth fintech and cyber security scale-ups. The Group is uniquely able to export high-growth technology companies from flexible start-up space at Level39 in One Canada Square into accommodating corporate infrastructure on the Canary Wharf estate.
From Level39, Digital Shadows has played a critical part in delivering against the UK government’s stated aim to make the country the safest place in the world to do business. The business now operates in five offices across London, San Francisco, Dallas, Frankfurt and Singapore, and it has raised $49m from influential investors including Octopus Ventures, Trinity Ventures, and Passion Capital.
With over 200 members, Level39 is home to the largest concentration of fintech companies in Europe and the largest cluster of cyber security businesses in the UK.
The Columbus Building offers a bright, contemporary office space on the bank of the River Thames with facilities suited to scale-up tech and creative tenants. It enjoys the same proximity as Level39 to the community of entrepreneurs and financial institutions based at Canary Wharf, which boasts 30 per cent of the world’s financial services IT budgets.
