Open Spaces

The Estate’s open spaces are special. Created to be welcoming and to provide a sense of serenity and wellbeing.

Canary Wharf Estate

The parks and gardens are the living heart of the Estate. They are beautiful and versatile open spaces that are used every day — whether as performance spaces for the Estate’s thriving arts and entertainment programme, gathering places for community classes such as ‘yoga in the park’, or simply for relaxing and unwinding.

Through a mix of careful planting and year-round cultivation, Canary Wharf’s green spaces are alive with flowers, plants, shrubs and trees that change seasonally.

Our Open Spaces

Cabot Square

Cabot Square is one of Canary Wharf’s central squares and features a beautiful fountain.

Stroll through here en route to Cabot Place mall below and admire several works of art along the way.

Canada Square Park

Canada Square Park is one of our treasured green spaces. It plays host to a revolving programme of cultural events – from music and dance performances to open-air film screenings.

Dotted around the square are a host of restaurants and bars.

Columbus Courtyard

Neighbouring Westferry Circus, Columbus Courtyard sits on the west end of the Estate and is an area which includes various pieces of public art from renowned sculptors such as Igor Mitoraj, alongside more conceptual works.

It’s a surprising little haven – a great place to relax and have a drink with friends.

Crossrail Place Roof Garden

Free to visit and open daily to the public until 9pm or sunset in summer, Crossrail Place Roof Garden is one of London’s largest. Wander through and admire the exotic plants, relax on one of the many benches nestled in hidden pathways or enjoy a show in the amphitheatre.

Crossrail Place sits almost exactly on the Meridian line and the planting is arranged according to which hemisphere they are from with Asian plants such as bamboos to the east, and plants such as ferns from the Americas to the west.

Harbour Quay

Harbour Quay. The name itself conjures images of windswept holidays by the coast. And really, this is as close to beach life as you’re likely to get in the city. Long, stroll-ready boardwalk? Check. Lapping water? Check. Family-friendly picnic spots? Check.

This area has a year-round summery atmosphere. Jog, walk or use the outdoor fitness equipment. Sit dockside, coffee in hand. Or treat little ones to a proper picnic on the lawn.

Jubilee Park

A tree-filled open space with cascading water features, Jubilee Park bring instant serenity.

Zone out from city stress – even just for a moment. At lunchtime, when the sun comes out, the grass is the best seat in town.

Montgomery Square

A haven for outdoor activities, Montgomery Square is often abuzz with street food markets and sporting events.

From volleyball tournaments to lawn bowls, there’s always something going on.

Westferry Circus

The gardens of Westferry Circus are beautifully landscaped with seasonal flowers and shrubs – a little tranquillity punctuating the bustle of city life.

Several sculptures have their home here.

Eden Dock

Created in partnership with the Eden Project, Eden Dock is a waterfront oasis in the heart of Canary Wharf. Aquatic islands, marine habitats, art installations and engaging water activities combine to create a place for nature and people.

Dive into open-water swimming, rejuvenate with yoga or unwind by the water’s edge and let nature enhance your wellbeing.
