Sir Nigel Wilson

Sir Nigel is the Chairman of CWG. He joined in July 2024 as the successor to Sir George Iacobescu CBE. Sir Nigel most recently held the role of Chief Executive of Legal and General from 2012 to 2023, having joined the company in 2009 as its Chief Financial Officer.

Richard Archer joined CWG in 2003 as Head of Leasing & Marketing and was promoted to Managing Director Offices, in 2015. He was also responsible for setting up the technology accelerator L39 and is spearheading the company’s expansion into life sciences. Prior to this Richard worked for 15 years at CBRE.

Richard’s speciality has been in the leasing and development of office buildings in Central London and to date has leased, sold and acquired over 14 million sq ft of office buildings and developments.

Following an agency career with Knight Frank and Lunson Mitchenall, Stuart joined CWG in 2012 and has been a key member of the team transforming the Canary Wharf estate into an ever-growing vibrant environment.

The team Asset Manage over 1 million sq ft of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, services and amenities with a huge amount in the development pipeline. In addition, Stuart has responsibility for hotels, out of home advertising, filming and cultural venues.

With overall responsibility for People & Development, Learning & Skills, Legal, Customer Experience, and Community Engagement, Jane joined CWG as Chief People Officer in July 2021.

She previously ran her own consultancy business providing strategic advice to real estate corporates, including British Land PLC, Knight Frank, Savills and the British Property Federation. Jane is a qualified solicitor, spending eighteen years at Addleshaw Goddard as Real Estate Sector Head, partner and Governance Board member.

She is a Non-Executive Director of the fund manager, the Moorfield Group, and a former Non-Executive Director of the G15 housing association, Notting Hill Genesis.

Before joining CWG as CEO in October 2019, Shobi served as President and Chief Operating Officer of GGP Inc, a S&P 500 REIT. From 2008 to 2011, he was U.S. chief investment officer at Bentall Kennedy and had spent 11 years at Equity Office Properties Trust, a S&P 500 REIT, prior to that.

Shobi served on the board director of the Chicago Public Library Foundation and Aliansce Sonae Shopping Centers, a Brazilian mall owner. He has an MBA from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from the University of California at Berkeley.

Katy joined CWG in 2014 to lead on financings, having spent 13 years in a major City law firm. She transacted £5.9bn of debt between 2014 and 2021 and was appointed Managing Director – Legal in January 2021.

Whilst in private practice, Katy specialised in real estate finance and was seconded to 2 major clearing banks, working in both the legal and deal execution teams.

Katy was appointed Head of Legal in 2020 and Managing Director, Legal in 2021 and heads up the Legal Team and Company Secretarial Teams.  She takes a keen interest in diversity and inclusion.

Alastair joined CWG in 2018 to establish the group’s Build-to-Rent platform, Vertus. He now oversees all the residential functions at Canary Wharf. This includes, Vertus’s day-to day activities, the groups residential leasehold management arm, Canary Wharf Residential Management Limited and the residential sales function.

Prior to this he spent nine years with Hamptons International & Countrywide Group based in London and Hong Kong, working across residential management, leasing, and development. In his final role at Countrywide as National Director of Corporate PRS & BTR, he oversaw the successful delivery of the group’s operational management platform which included the delivery of The Cargo Building, Liverpool and Pomona Wharf, Manchester.

John joined CWG in August 2023 as Chief Investment Officer having previously served at CBRE as Head of Offices EMEA and as Head of Transactions before that.

Prior to CBRE, John spent ten years at Hammerson plc. as Group Director leading the team responsible for the London office development and asset management business.

John earned a BSc in Estate Management from the University of East London and holds a post graduate diploma in property investment from the Investment Property Forum (IPF).  He was elected a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in 1994 and was made a Fellow (FRICS) in 2012.

Phil joined CWG in 1997 and has over 30-years’ experience in property and estate management. Phil gained extensive operational and project management experience on the Canary Wharf estate, where he is responsible for all elements of operational activities including, maintenance, security, landscaping, retail, cleaning, health & safety, and service charges managing a successful and productive team of over 650 multi-skilled employees.

Phil has an MBA from Plymouth University.

Joining CWG in 1995, Alec has over 30 years industry experience. Specialising in large high rise commercial office / residential construction projects and property development, Alec has gained extensive experience of construction and project management on major developments and successfully delivered many of the landmark buildings on the Estate including Credit Suisse, HSBC, Barclays, EMA, Society Generale / EBRD and most recently the Newfoundland Tower.

Alec serves as Co-Chair of the CWG Ethnicity Committee where he has a keen interest in ensuring the company maintains a diverse, inclusive workplace.  He is also Chairman of the Canary Wharf Contractors Fund supporting many local causes.

Tom joined CWG in July 2022 and is responsible for delivery of the Group’s development pipeline. The pipeline includes Canary Wharf’s North Quay and Wood Wharf developments, delivering homes, hotel, retail, and commercial space, together with a life-sciences campus for London. In addition, the team leads the delivery of the final phase of the redevelopment of the Shell Centre with partners Qatari Diar. 

Prior to joining CWG, Tom served as the first Managing Director of the Euston Partnership, the Government’s largest real estate delivery partnership, and established the Property Business of High Speed Two. Before HS2, Tom spent 10 years at LandSec.

Becky Worthington

Becky joined CWG as CFO in March 2021 having previously served as CFO of iQ Student Accommodation, and as CFO and COO at Countryside Properties between 2015 and 2019.

Becky spent 15 years at Quintain Estates and Development, first as Finance Director and latterly as Deputy Chief Executive; and before that was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lodestone Capital Partners 2012 to 2015.

Becky qualified as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and has over 20 years of experience in finance with extensive knowledge of the real estate market. She is a board member at Alstria Office Reit AG.

Canary Wharf Group

Now entering its second year, Canary Wharf Group is excited to bring together fourteen talented individuals as its newly elected 2023 Junior Board

Building on the foundations of the 2021-22 members, the 2023 Junior Board will identify new standalone projects and make recommendations impacting key aspects of our working environment, company culture, and the Canary Wharf estate.

Each bringing experience from a diverse range of backgrounds, the Junior Board members will also reverse mentor a Management Committee executive, providing a voice to our next generation of employees to generate ideas and influence the strategy of the business.

The fourteen members were selected following a group wide competitive process and were appointed from across the business.

The Junior Board is sponsored by Jane Hollinshead, Chief People Officer, supported and coached by Michael Pagnotta, Director- People Engagement.

Canary Wharf Group’s first Junior Board was created last year in recognition of the value the next generation of talent can bring in shaping our strategy and vision. Thirteen Board members were appointed following a group-wide competitive applications process

The Junior Board acts as a sounding board and platform to generate ideas and innovation to help shape the future direction of the business. The Board is part of our ED&I strategy and is instrumental in how we develop as an organisation.
