Padium, the UK’s most premium padel club, is opening its doors in the vibrant hub of Canary Wharf – 18.04.23

This July, Padium, London’s first premium padel club will be opening its 30,000 square foot site in the heart of Canary Wharf, situated in the centre of the city’s residential and business district offering enthusiasts and first timers an unrivalled London padel experience.

In the UK, padel is fast becoming a popular sport due to its addictive nature, and Padium is here to set the benchmark with its flagship Canary Wharf site. Already popular around the world, padel, hailed as the most social of team sports, originated from Mexico in 1969 and is one of the fastest growing sports in the world – with 30,000+ courts in Europe alone.

Experience a world class experience before, during and after your match. Padium is here to elevate the sport in the UK and will be home to seven indoor panoramic glass courts courts and one outdoor court. The advanced padel players will appreciate the tall 10m indoor ceiling height and the superb floor conditions for your optimum game experience. In addition to this, the club will feature advanced court technology, state-of-the-art facilities and world-class coaches, making it undoubtedly an exciting addition to the London padel experience.

Padium’s large venue is the perfect hub for socialising and refreshments and will offer nutritional drinks in the Ace Bar and ample space for networking and events. On site, visitors will also have access to their impressive padel pro shop with exclusive clothing from Björn Borg and an extensive selection of rackets from Babolat and other leading sports brands.

The notable face behind Padium is Houman Ashrafzadeh who co-founded the popular Urban Green’s restaurant chain in London, whilst Martin Lorentzon of the global Spotify platform has invested in the project. This is not Houman and Martin’s first venture together, as back in 2020, Martin also invested in Houman’s successful Swedish Coffydoor business, again which he is a co-founder of.

To help grow Padium in the UK market and to follow suit to mirror how the European market boomed, Sara Kroik who was formerly Operations Manager and part of the founding team of Barry’s in the Nordics has joined as COO. 

The club will be open daily 6am until 11pm, courts can be booked in advance, for four players, in time slots of 60, 90 and 120 minutes. In-house tournaments will be offered for players to learn and hone skills with the Padium expert coaches.
