Latest Lettings Announced at Canary Wharf’s Jubilee Place Mall

Canary Wharf Group today announced a further five retail lettings that are due to open at the Jubilee Place Shopping Mall extension in early November 2013.

Cadenzza, Cath Kidson, Pretty Ballerinas, Sweaty Betty and Wolford will be among the new shops to open, joining a further 15 retail brands already announced.

The Jubilee Place extension totals 44,000 sq. ft. of retail space and will result in the addition of twenty-five new stores to Canary Wharf’s existing offer of more than 280 shops, bars, restaurants and cafes.

Camille Waxer, Chief Administrative Officer for Canary Wharf Group, said: ““Our tenant mix at Canary Wharf is going from strength to strength.  I am delighted to welcome our new tenants, Wolford, Cadenzza, Cath Kidston and Pretty Ballerinas who will be opening in Jubilee Place.”

The Head Office of Wolford said: “We are delighted about our latest boutique in one of the most prestigious locations in London. Canary Wharf and Jubilee Place have a unique character and prestige and made it one of our top choices and a perfect match for our brand. We are glad visitors will be able to add Wolford to their next shopping experience.”

Combined with the Group’s 115,000 sq. ft. retail development above the new Canary Wharf Crossrail Station, Jubilee Place represents one of the largest retail expansions currently underway in the UK. The Group’s retail portfolio is currently fully let.

Previously announced to open in the Jubilee Place extension are leading premium fashion brands Michael Kors, Banana Republic and COS, independent designer swimwear brand Orlebar Brown, The White Company, Tiger of Sweden, jewellery brand Monica Vinader, cosmetics brands bareMinerals and Rituals, Oliver Bonas, Schuh, Emmett Shirts, Asics, Godiva and Le Pain Quotidien.

Pretty Ballerinas – www.prettyballerinas.com – occupying 314 sq ft

Pretty Ballerinas is a brand of ballerinas and flat shoes made by hand since 1918 using only the finest materials. Each shoe shape is named after a female screen or music icon to help customers remember which shape suits them best.

Pretty Ballerinas opened its first boutique at 34 Brook Street in Mayfair, London in February 2007, followed by stores in Pont Street, Belgravia and Threadneedle Street. The year after saw the first retail outlets in continental Europe with two stores being opened in “Barrio Salamanca” the most famous shopping district of Madrid.

In 2009 Pretty Ballerinas launched its “pretty young princess” collection – versions of its ballerinas aimed at the younger customer. Pretty Ballerinas is known for its huge array of styles and colours and the unusual way materials are combined. The stores are designed like tiny chocolate boxes with signature details of French antique gilt mirrors and chandeliers, pink shelving and leopard print sofas.

They’ll be able to choose from an ever-changing collection of pieces from up to 50 top international fashion brands and up-and-coming designers, supplemented by house brands. This curated selection of the world’s finest fashion jewellery will be displayed in a cutting edge in-store environment, which aims to stimulate and inspire. It will revolutionize the market, and transform people’s views. Traditionally, fashion jewellery was reserved for special occasions; but for Cadenzza customers, it will become a way of making every occasion special.

Cath Kidston, the home of modern vintage, was founded in 1993 when designer Cath Kidston opened a single shop in London’s Holland Park. The company now offers a full range of highly giftable lifestyle products across homeware, accessories, women’s and children’s fashion.  This global lifestyle brand has 59 Cath Kidston stores and concessions in the UK and Ireland, with an additional 71 internationally and can now proudly say that one in every 4 women in the UK owns Cath Kidston product.  This year, Cath Kidston celebrates its 20th anniversary.
