Job Summary:

The Development Accountant, alongside the Senior Development Accountant (‘SDA’), is a key bridge between the various stakeholders across a development.

The role forms part of the newly established Development Accounts team and contributes to the business partnering relationship for the respective developments, the production of construction valuations as well as high quality spend, forecast and cash flow information related to their developments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly cashflows for each development, working closely with the SDA and partnering closely with stakeholders with the aim of achieving consistency across each development.
  • Control WIP figures in Yardi (which form the spend incurred figure in each CM cashflow), including various cross company recharges as required.
  • Support SDA and the Senior Manager – Development Accounts to produce post-development reviews and related reporting (i.e. review of previously approved cashflows to the current incurred and forecast spend assumptions). Key objective for this role will be applying learning where the business has over/under forecasted into future cashflows.
  • Set up of new jobs, packages, and commitments being raised.
  • Manage valuation certification process.
  • Support Investment team with development information in group cashflow analysis.
  • Play key role in developing process to meet the above tasks, constantly reviewing and refining to improve efficiency and information quality.
  • Contribute to finance systems discussions as related to developments with a focus on efficiency and automation of key analysis.
  • Provide general development analysis as required.
What We Require of You

  • Fluent with numbers – qualified accountant and/or has specific relevant experience within the construction/development industry.
  • Down to earth – able to build strong relationships with finance & non-finance individuals and have the confidence to challenge assumptions.
  • Dynamic thinker – confidence to challenge conventional wisdom and ways of working.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of proficiency in Excel – figures/analysis produced are correct, underlying workbooks are neat and easy to follow, and analysis is written in clear, very concise manner.
  • Very organised with exceptional time management skills – able to work under pressure, prioritising and meet competing deadlines.
  • Hunger to learn and develop.
  • Experience of Yardi would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of the construction/development industry a plus.
