Canary Wharf Group’s vision is to transform urban spaces into extraordinary environments; and is committed to creating sustainable places now and for the future. As the property developer responsible for Europe’s largest regeneration project, we have delivered one of the largest environmentally certified portfolios in the UK, with over 10m sq ft certified to date. With the launch of our Net Zero Carbon Pathway, we are committed to build on the progress made so far to achieve net zero carbon by 2030 – twenty years ahead of the Paris Agreement.
This Net Zero Carbon Pathway, aligned with the requirements of the Better Buildings Partnership Climate Change Commitment, sets out the tangible steps we will take over the next decade to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions in order to support the global transition to net zero. We have set ourselves some challenging targets, and we know we can’t achieve them alone. Our greatest impact comes when we work together to tackle the issues that face us all. We are committed to working closely with our entire value chain to reach net zero by 2030. This Pathway outlines the steps we are taking to work with our tenants, suppliers, customers and community to tackle climate change together.
We are proud of the progress we have made already, but we know there is much more to do. We are ready to face the challenges of the next decade head on, and we will report annually on our progress in a clear and transparent manner as we progress in our journey towards net zero carbon. We hope you’ll join us on this journey as we work together towards a sustainable future.
