Job Summary: To undertake general maintenance duties and to assist technical staff as required

The Vertus team will manage all aspects of the Build to Rent assets on the Estate, as well as the initial management during the final construction programme and handover period.

The team will be based on site and will be comprised of a core group of experienced specialists and individual building management members, dedicated to the lettings and management of both the building and the apartments. This team will have a comprehensive track record of delivering excellent service and will be dedicated to meeting the needs of their customers and residents.

The Vertus team will be dedicated to providing a superlative service to residents, 24 hours a day and 365 days per year.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To carry out general PPMs/reactive and project related tasks as instructed.
  2. To complete all tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  3. To maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the floors.
  4. To be thoroughly familiar and comply with the Company’s “Health & Safety” policy and procedures and to immediately report any hazards or infringements to either the Building Services Manager or Engineering Supervisors.
  5. To complete all associated paperwork on a daily basis in accordance with company procedures.
  6. To support with office moves/refurbishments and general reconfigurations
  7. To ensure that all office support facilities are operational and of a high standard.
  8. To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Building Services Manager or Engineering Supervisors.

Health Safety and Welfare Responsibilities

Environmental Responsibilities
All Staff are required to follow the Canary Wharf Group plc (CWG) Environmental Policies for minimisation of waste and effective energy management as defined in the CWG Environmental Manual and associated documents.

Quality Management Responsibilities
All staff are required to comply with CWG Quality Management System requirements detailed within the Company Quality Manual & Policies, and to ensure that all Procedure; Plans and Forms within InfoBase are effectively implemented to meet the set ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management Standard.

Person Specification
  1. The incumbent must show a degree of manual dexterity and be able to follow basic technical instructions.
  2. Experience of working in a maintenance environment.
  3. Basic skills in: painting/decorating, electrical, carpentry, carpet fitting, dry lining, ceiling fixing, furniture assembly.
  4. Good communication skills in order to liaise effectively with management and tenants.
  5. The incumbent must be self-motivated, proactive, approachable and demonstrate a willingness to assist others.
  6. The incumbent must have an appreciation of the importance of customer service and how this is applied in the context of Canary Wharf.
  7. Time management to achieve effective, optimum results is key.
  8. To be able to identify problems and to have the ability to actively seek solutions is essential.
  9. The incumbent must be able to adapt their way of working to suit the needs of the department as business needs change, showing flexibility and adaptability.
