British sporting icons Phil Tufnell, Joe Calzaghe and Steve Davis were among the crowds thronging to the Gadgets, Grooming & Style shopping event at Canary Wharf from 26 – 29 November.

The famous business and shopping district hosted the ultimate men’s event, offering everything from slick styling to pool playing and super car simulators, drawing huge, buzzing audiences over the four days.

Tufnell, a former England cricketing star turned TV personality, launched the event on 26 November before giving would-be test cricketers tips on winning the Ashes – on the Xbox playing International Cricket 2010.

On Monday 29 November, undefeated boxing world champion Joe Calzaghe took to the consoles to show off his punch combinations, while Steve Davis drew the biggest crowds, taking passers-by on at eight-ball Pool.

Alongside the sporting champions, catwalk shows brandished the very best of Canary Wharf’s men’s fashion, including Aquascutum, Hugo Boss, Hackett, Gant, Cecil Gee, Tumi, Charles Tyrwhitt and Aspinal of London. Items featured were also showcased in the exclusive Style Zone – a perfect one-stop-shop for a fashion fix.

Elsewhere, petrolheads powered a Formula 1 racing car and Robinson R22 helicopter simulator, while a full scale Scalextrics track also got motors racing.

Visitors were given their first taste of festive cheer, with Diageo offering tots of whisky from its Malt Whisky Tasting Bar. Meanwhile in Canada Place, budding Lee Westwoods teed-off in their tea break at a state-of-the-art golf simulator.
