Roll up, Roll up, for Spiegeltent at Canary Wharf…

A fabulous Spiegeltent programme based out of a classic ‘Mirror Tent’ will arrive at Canary Wharf from 11 – 21 September with a packed schedule of eclectic activities and performances for both children and adults at Wood Wharf. With its sparkling interior and festival vibe, the tent provides a perfect setting for a programme of exciting events over ten days. Eye-popping acrobatics, a cabaret showcase and a Family Rave combine to create this truly original and diverse line-up, alongside comedy performances, creative workshops and insightful talks from well-known guests.

For a Friday night with a difference, Silent Arena presents a Silent Disco on 19 September, while the Aircraft Circus will feature stunning high-flying aerial tricks, leaving audiences in awe of the performers’ breath-taking stunts. On Friday 19 September, visitors can enjoy a female powerhouse of musical performances from Krystle Warren, Gwyneth Herbert and Fiona Bevan who grace the Spiegeltent at the Social Sounds event. John Sinclair will perform with The Founder Effect fresh from his acclaimed appearance at the Sun Ra Arkestra’s sold out concert at The Barbican, performing music and poetry from his new CD ‘Mohawk’.

Lunchtime Literary sessions host tête-à-têtes with Orange Prize winner, Linda Grant and Man Booker shortlisted novelist, Rachel Seiffert on Wednesday 17 September. Shami Chakrabarti CBE takes centre stage on Friday 19 September to discuss her new book, plus the Pop up Poetry event sees six of the UK’s finest young poets from Goldsmith’s College go head to head on Tuesday 16 September whilst cartoonists Peter Brookes and Martin Rowson do the same with Blake Morrison on Monday 15 September.

Big Fish Little Fish and its Family Rave arrives on Saturday 20 September to keep the whole family entertained, bringing together DJs, a multi-sensory dance floor with craft activities for all the family movers and groovers. The amazing Ripstop Theatre will present its beguiling magic and clever shadow puppetry show, ‘A Real Fairy Story’ aimed at children of all ages.

With the CNTNR Bar providing refreshments at the Spiegeltent at Canary Wharf in Wood Wharf and Canary Wharf’s 300 bars, shops and restaurants just around the corner, there is plenty of choice for refuelling throughout the events. Thanks to its jam-packed programme of original and one-off events, from the madcap to the thought-provoking, the Spiegeltent at Canary Wharf offers a cultural and artistic send off to the great British summer!
