Festive fun for all the family at Canary Wharf

With a fantastic line-up of Christmas activities, Canary Wharf is the number one festive destination for all the family this season. The stunning Ice Rink Canary Wharf returns to Canada Square Park with trendy bar and restaurant Q on Ice. A magical Santa’s Grotto will appear in Jubilee Place, where children can enjoy a personal introduction to Father Christmas and win a golden ticket for a Christmas adventure like no other. With a whole host of activities, such as Cookie and Cupcake decorating and Santa’s Magical Silver Reindeer (a festive extravaganza with songs and a captivating story) – Canary Wharf is all set for an enchanting Christmas.

‘Ice Rink Canary Wharf’ – Until 28th February 2015
Canary Wharf welcomes back its stunning ice rink, nestled under the towering buildings of Canada Square. London’s only skate path returns, leading skaters on a glittering trail beneath fairy-lit trees to add an extra element of excitement. This year, the rink will be bigger and better than ever before. Restaurant and pop up bar Q on Ice provides a great place to enjoy some pre- or post- skating refreshments for skaters. Watch others glide across the ice and sample the BBQ menu and raw bar, or treat yourself to some winter inspired cocktails and craft beers from the safety of the side-lines; skaters and non-skaters are welcome.

The rink and skate path combined comprise almost 1100m2 of ice, making Ice Rink Canary Wharf one of the largest outdoor rinks in the capital. This ice rink is the perfect venue for a family day out, a romantic date, or to have a fun with friends.

Canary Wharf Christmas Market – from 17th November Until 24th December 2014
Adjacent to the ice rink, in Montgomery Square and a new addition to the Canary Wharf Christmas line up, a market full of festive cheer will be open until Christmas Eve, buzzing with stalls offering seasonal food and drink plus original handcrafts and unique gifts. You can choose from personalised Christmas decorations, hot chestnuts, handmade soap, churros, wooden toys, mulled wine, jewellery, oil paintings, handbags, gingerbread houses and much more.

Canary Wharf Winter Fashion Event – 27th November 2014
Canary Wharf will once again host its annual Winter Fashion event – a highlight for shoppers and fashion fanatics and the perfect opportunity to tackle the Christmas shopping.

Fashion shows in Canada Place and Jubilee Place will showcase the latest winter collections and style essentials from stores within Canary Wharf. The programme of in-mall entertainment will include promotions, live entertainment, product sampling and exclusive store discounts of up to 20% in many of Canary Wharf’s leading fashion and accessories stores.

Santa’s Grotto – from 29th November – 24th December 2014
Also returning to Canary Wharf’s Jubilee Place Mall will be the magnificent Santa’s Grotto a striking creation from The Whimsical Cake Company, decked in candy canes, cupcakes, gingerbread men and towering piles of presents. Each December weekend, and from 20 December until Christmas Eve, excited children can visit Santa and his elves in the stunning grotto.

Every Saturday and Sunday one lucky child will receive a golden ticket in their present from Santa. This is an amazing prize which allows them and up to five friends skate for free followed by a mouth-watering Christmas tea served up at Tom’s Kitchen Canary Wharf.

Children’s Festive Activities – from 29th November – 24th December 2014
Adding to the magic and sparkle of Christmas, families are invited to enjoy a programme of free children’s festive activities throughout Canary Wharf shopping malls. Children are invited to make their own sweet treat using icing, sprinkles and sweeties at the Cookie & Cupcake Decorating workshop in Canada Place provided by Canary Wharf’s Sweet Couture cupcake boutique or let the children express their creativity at the Festive Head Bopper workshop in Cabot Place where they can personalise their own head bopper with an array of jewels, gems and stickers. The little ones can have their faces painted in a variety of colourful festive designs through the shopping malls and they can also marvel at Canary Wharf’s Magical Mirrors installation, guaranteed to provide endless fun for young ones in Jubilee Place Mall.

Santa’s Magical Silver Reindeer – 6th and 7th December 2014
On 6th and 7th December, Santa and his silver reindeer will take to the stage in East Wintergarden with a new Christmas tale performed with classic festive songs for families to enjoy. When Rudolph catches a cold, Santa’s hardest working elves Ellie and Elvin must find a way to deliver all the presents in time. Fortunately a secret helper is at hand, who might be able to help save Christmas just in time.
