Monday 19 November – Media Release
Canary Wharf to host Michael Palin and Lord Coe book signings
Following a string of recent celebrity signings, Canary Wharf Group unveils two further high-profile book signings: comedian, actor, writer and television presenter Michael Palin (Wednesday 21 November) and the man behind ‘the greatest show on earth’ Lord Sebastian Coe (Wednesday 28 November).
On Wednesday 21 November at 12:30pm, the legendary Michael Palin will be signing copies of his latest book, Brazil. Spending the last 25 years travelling to far-flung corners of the world, Brazil was one of the few countries he had never fully explored. Accompanied by the new four-part BBC 1 series, this timely book takes a closer look at a remarkable new force on the world scene ahead of its preparations for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games and 2014 World Cup. From the Venezuelan border and forests of the Lost World to the shanty towns of Rio, beaches of Copacabana and the Pantanal tropical wetlands, Michael Palin explores this vast and disparate nation in his inimitable way.
In hot pursuit on Wednesday 28 November at 12:30pm, Lord Sebastian Coe, former British athlete, politician and LOGOG Chairman, will be signing copies of his new autobiography Running my Life. This exhilarating, inspiring, hilarious and extremely moving story gives an insight into the inherent passion that has galvanized Coe to not only succeed on the sporting field (breaking an incredible twelve world records) but also securing London’s winning bid for the Games this summer.
Camille Waxer, Chief Administrative Officer of Canary Wharf Group comments: “Michael Palin and Lord Seb Coe are two of the latest high-profile celebrity figures to host signings in Canary Wharf. Both are sure to draw a large crowd to Canary Wharf’s Jubilee Place mall.”
