After Hours with…Ed Harcourt plus special guest Ren Harvieu
This November Canary Wharf’s East Wintergarden will host a very special evening of music in the company of singer-songwriter par excellence, Ed Harcourt. He will be performing his distinctive brand of melancholic piano-pop along with a smattering of gonzo-lullabies pulled from his charmingly weathered trunk of songs.
At the beginning of this year, Ed Harcourt released his album, Time of Dust to much critical acclaim. Described by one critic as “cinematic hip-hop” and another as “post-grave”, the Guardian named it the week’s ‘must hear’ album and comparisons elsewhere veered from Eels to James Blake via Elbow and Tom Waits.
Of Ed Harcourt’s six albums to date, one was Mercury nominated and the rest have attracted a series of plaudits from the music press. He has composed film scores, toured with the likes of REM, Wilco and Snow Patrol, performed with everyone from Patti Smith to Nick Cave and his CV is littered with co-writing credits, including Paloma Faith and Lisa-Marie Presley. Most recently he has been working with Beth Ditto, Marianne Faithfull and Lana Del Ray and he also produced and co-wrote Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s new album, which was awarded a silver disc in the UK, following its January 2014 release.
Join the extraordinarily talented Ed Harcourt for a wonderfully intimate evening of song at Canary Wharf’s East Wintergarden this November 11th. For anyone wanting to continue their evening’s entertainment, there are plenty of options for eating and drinking at one of Canary Wharf’s many bustling cafes and restaurants.
The ‘After Hours with…’ series is a perennial favourite on the Canary Wharf Arts & Events calendar, with concerts by top-quality established and new artists in the spectacular East Wintergarden.
